The generously sized vessel features a bubble shape with deep amber on one half and a much lighter amber on the other. The two sides are separated in the middle by vertical strokes of black, grey, and amber that add color and visual interest. Cecile’s mouth features a deep notch at the center and is flared to each side with a delicate curlicue at the ends. The vase is hand blown using Favrile art glass that was first developed by L.C. Tiffany in the late Nineteenth century. The Favrile process embeds color within the glass itself. This can cause subtle variations in color, tone, and texture, which means that no 2 pieces are exactly alike.
